Comme Des Garçons' spring summer collection was a middle finger to all of the current trends in fashion..but in a respectable, good way, of course. a collage of nude, netting, sequin, and leather, shoulder pads ( not on the shoulders might i add), all jumbled together in different arrangements found their way down the runway, or should i say around the center of the room. Rei Kawakubo shows are always more of a moving art installation than a fashion show to me. she is the leading designer of conceptual fashion. I fund this line stunning, and can not wait to see what Rei will give us for fall/ winter.

As much as we may covet some of our favorite designers garments this current ss 2010 season, lets face it, not many of us have 1,000 plus lying around for a pair of shoes, or an entire outfit for that matter. Which is why i thought i would include some more economically friendly alternatives through out my coverage of my favorite looks from ss 2010 season. TOPSHOP is a wonderful way to obtain that high end look for a fraction of the cost. To get us ready for the upcoming spring and summer months, TOPSHOP has put together a little inspiration video. So, get inspired and enjoy!
This morning the fashion world was floored by the unexpected death of one of the most incredible visionaries. Alexander McQueen was one of the most talented designers of his time. His work was impeccable, original, and ALWAYS flawless. As an aspiring fashion designer myself, i hope to amount one day to a fraction of the greatness of the late Alexander McQueen. He will be missed immensely.
I know, the videos are getting frequent, but limiting down the Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 collection to a handful of my favorite looks was next to impossible. I loved every single article of clothing, shoe, and accessory that walked down that runway. Marc Jacobs once said in an interview when people get used to what your doing, it's time to change. Every single season there is a fresh take on his collections that is uniquely it's own with that special MJ touch. Marc Jacobs is a true visionary and i look forward to his future work at both Marc Jacobs collections, and Louis Vuitton ( which will be blogged on in the very near future). Another huge success for Marc; congratulations!
