Rag & Bone Spring Summer 2010 Runway

Rag & Bone's Spring 2010 collection was taken back to the basics by head designers, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright."With the economy where it is right now, we're focused on what we're about as a company," said Wainwright after the show, "which is our English, military-school heritage mixed with a utilitarian, made-in-America ethos." The line was a success never the less. Better safe than sorry, never looked so good.

Comme Des Garçons Spring Summer 2010 Runway

Comme Des Garçons' spring summer collection was a middle finger to all of the current trends in fashion..but in a respectable, good way, of course. a collage of nude, netting, sequin, and leather, shoulder pads ( not on the shoulders might i add), all jumbled together in different arrangements found their way down the runway, or should i say around the center of the room. Rei Kawakubo shows are always more of a moving art installation than a fashion show to me. she is the leading designer of conceptual fashion. I fund this line stunning, and can not wait to see what Rei will give us for fall/ winter.

PS. DON'T FORGET TO CLICK COMME DES GARCONS PART 2 WHEN THE OTHER SUGGESTED VIDEOS APPEAR AT THE END.

Yohji Yamamoto Spring Summer 2010 Runway

FLORALS at Yohji Yamamoto.

i have been a fan Mr. Yamamoto's work since i first discovered it. his pieces are always so architecturally interesting. the lines and cuts of his garments never fail to enhance and elongate the female form. there is such a fluidity to his design. this spring summer season, his same aesthetic came through with and array of white button down shirt dresses, as well as black leathers, and warped pant suits; but what stood out to me the most was several distressed floral dresses. something about their destroyed beauty ( i don't know how else to word it) was so lovely.

REMINDER

DON'T FORGET: TONIGHT IS THE LIVE FEED OF THE MARC JACOBS FALL/ WINTER 2010 RUNWAY SHOW AT 8PM EASTERN TIME FROM THE COMPANY WEB SITE WWW.MARCJACOBS.COM. THIS IS A SHOW YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS. AND WHAT BETTER WAY TO SEE IT THAN AS IT IS HAPPENING IN NEW YORK!?

A SIDE NOTE:
AS YOU MAY HAVE ASSUMED, NYC FASHION WEEK IS UPON US. IT HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS, WHICH LEFT ME WITH THE DELIMA, 'DO I COVER THE CURRENT SEASONS OF SPRING AND SUMMER? OR, DO I PAIN YOU, AND MYSELF, WITH THE INCREDIBLE GARMENTS THAT ARE UNATTAINABLE UNTIL NEXT AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER?' THEY'RE ARE STILL SO MANY SHOWS AND AD CAMPAIGNS THAT I HAVE NOT EVEN TOUCHED ON YET, THAT DESERVE THE PROPER RECOGNITION. SO, THAT BEING SAID, I WILL CONTINUE TO COVER THE SPRING/ SUMMER 2010 SEASON UNTIL I FEEL I HAVE HIGHLIGHTED EVERYTHING THAT I FIND NOTE WORTHY. DON'T WORRY, I ALREADY HAVE A SLUE OF DESIGNER'S GARMENTS AND ACCESSORIES WAITING TO BE POSTED FROM F/W 2010. THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING, AND LOOK FORWARD TO MORE POST ON THE CURRENT S/S 2010 SEASON COLLECTIONS!

TOPSHOP ss2010 Get Inspired

As much as we may covet some of our favorite designers garments this current ss 2010 season, lets face it, not many of us have 1,000 plus lying around for a pair of shoes, or an entire outfit for that matter. Which is why i thought i would include some more economically friendly alternatives through out my coverage of my favorite looks from ss 2010 season. TOPSHOP is a wonderful way to obtain that high end look for a fraction of the cost. To get us ready for the upcoming spring and summer months, TOPSHOP has put together a little inspiration video. So, get inspired and enjoy!

You Will Be Missed.

REST IN PEACE ALEXANDER MCQUEEN.

16 March 1969 – 11 February 2010

This morning the fashion world was floored by the unexpected death of one of the most incredible visionaries. Alexander McQueen was one of the most talented designers of his time. His work was impeccable, original, and ALWAYS flawless. As an aspiring fashion designer myself, i hope to amount one day to a fraction of the greatness of the late Alexander McQueen. He will be missed immensely.

Bottega Veneta Spring Summer 2010 Runway

An array of essentially blank canvases floated down the runway at Bottega Veneta's Spring 2010 runway show. the line consisted mainly of white garments accented by dramatic yellow, purple, blue, and turquoise accessories. "The clothes are meant to be a backdrop, a blank canvas, so the wearer can play with color and accessories to change the look and make it her own.", said Thomas Maier.

Bottega's structured collars and hot shoulders were dramatic, and an element that made these bright white ensembles interesting.

the line was inspired by the uniforms worn by karate students. Maier said that he,"... liked the look of the canvas, and that became my color card—white, cream, straw. And the idea of the soft belt."

Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2010 Runway

I know, the videos are getting frequent, but limiting down the Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 collection to a handful of my favorite looks was next to impossible. I loved every single article of clothing, shoe, and accessory that walked down that runway. Marc Jacobs once said in an interview when people get used to what your doing, it's time to change. Every single season there is a fresh take on his collections that is uniquely it's own with that special MJ touch. Marc Jacobs is a true visionary and i look forward to his future work at both Marc Jacobs collections, and Louis Vuitton ( which will be blogged on in the very near future). Another huge success for Marc; congratulations!

Fendi Spring Summer 2010 Runway

Spring Summer 2010 at Fendi, was filled with ecru and ivory, off pastels, frayed edges, and light, flowing fabric.
The transparent Perspex clutch with beveled edges, is one of the most stunning clutches i have seen walk down the Fendi runway, and one of my favorite accessories i have seen this spring summer 2010 season.
